Not that Friday feeling.

Friday: one demo, a lot of put-off calls, and why I’m done with Bitwarden

Today was an odd one. I started the day happy and excited, and then as the hours went by I kept finding reasons not to make the calls I needed to make or push people through my sequences.

I did book one demo. Well, sort of. Call it a demo if you like. I pressured someone into a call while they were on holiday, to catch up and align on their requirements next week. I asked for a demo and he said phone is FINE.

The trouble is, they now know exactly when it’s in their diary, so they probably won’t pick up. If they don’t, I’ll rotate numbers and ring from a few different ones back to back so it feels like someone new is calling each time. Thank God for Nooks, eh?

Nobody picked up

Other than that, Friday was pretty uneventful. Nobody answered the phone at all, which is strange, because Friday is normally a great day for connects.

I also skipped the operations people in my cadence. Someone else who sells into ops asked me, “Why are you calling operations? You should be calling IT for this.” Honestly, I was happy to hear it. I didn’t fancy another round of being belittled, shouted at or hung up on by ops leaders, so I’ve left them in the sequence for Monday. That’s just putting off the pain but i’ll call them anyway because I need more practice of dealing with c*nts.

A fresh list and better emails

The good bit: today I had Grok find me 100 people on LinkedIn who look just like the person who came to my demo on Wednesday, all of them new to their role in the last nine months. Fingers crossed that turns into something.

I’ve written better emails too. The plan is to call every other day and email on the days in between, so for about eight days they really feel the pressure. Then I’ll leave them alone and cycle them back in three months.

I’m doing the same thing for the US. I’m starting Monday morning with a fresh 200 people in my sequences: the UK in the early afternoon and the Yanks in the evening. I’m hoping to work late and absolutely blitz it, then I’m off up north for a couple of days.

Annoying thing of the week

For some reason, a recent update to Grok means it won’t connect to HubSpot anymore, which is killing my efficiency. Sequences take longer to build because Grok has to do it all in its web browser. It’s not the end of the world. It’s just another one of those annoying things.

Get 1Password

If you’re using any AI tools and you’re not on 1Password yet, get it. It’s epic.

I’d been using Bitwarden to store the secrets my AI tools need, so they could call them across different tools, with the instructions hosted on my shared Railway server. That way my Claude and Grok setups are always in sync and have the same information every day. But my god, 1Password is so much better.

Work rolled it out, and now I’ve moved my personal life onto it too. Goodbye Apple Passwords, goodbye Bitwarden, goodbye LastPass and the rest. None of you come close to 1Password.
